Experience a New Family Tradition!
Meet the Maccabee on the MantelTM; he’s a high-quality, snuggly, cute, warrior plush toy, and he’s here to spend the month of Kislev with your family! He comes with a beautifully written and illustrated book, which teaches the story of Hanukkah. After dinner, gather the children at the table, or on the floor, wherever you feel comfortable and play the dreidel game. Playing with the dreidel is a traditional Hanukkah game played in Jewish and interfaith homes all over the world. Any number of people can take part in this great game. Each player begins the game with an equal number of game pieces (about 10-15) such as nuts, chocolate chips, raisins, or use real “gelt,” etc.
Let your children name their new Maccabee friend. You can use “Mac” (that’s what we call ours) as a friend to play the dreidel game with, go outside with, use him as a reward for good behavior. “Mac” is a great sleeping partner for children to watch over them and protect them. Don’t forget to include “Mac” when you are lighting the candles on the Menorah.
